Stages of grief
How is it determined and who is to say how grief is supposed to work? In the published 1969 book On Death and Dying by the famous by far Kubler-Ross. She discusses her theory of The 5 stages of Grief as:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
Symptoms of Grief
Grief symptoms vary depending on the person, their relationship and nature
of the loss, and any other physical, emotional,
and situational factors all play a part with
their grief.
Primarily, symptoms are shown emotionally and also physically.
Emotional Symptoms
May include:
* Sadness
* Numbness
* Anger
* Shock or disbelief
* Inability to stop crying
* Fear & Worry
* Guilt
* Relief (and guilt for feeling relief)
* Irritability
Physical Symptoms
Can include
* Increased blood pressure
* Heart palpitations
* Sleeplessness
* Headaches & nausea
* Appetite & weight changes
* Tiredness/fatigue
* Weakened immune system
